I picked cartoon #3. My title for this cartoon would be TRUTH. I think the point of this cartoon is to look at the role Saddam Hussein played in the U.S. entering the war in Iraq. It's easy to put the blame of all the bad things that have happened on Pres. Bush but I believe that a lot of the blame should be pointed to Saddam. The deaths of so many American soldiers and Iraqi civilians can be blamed on the tyrant leadership of Saddam. Pres. Bush gave him many opportunities to take responsibility for his actions yet Saddam refused. Yes I do not agree with ALL actions taken by Pres. Bush regarding Iraq, we cannot forget the role and actions taken by Saddam Hussein.

The first cartoon I picked was #2 and I would title it "I thought you said this would be easy..." This cartoon depicts how Americans felt and continue to feel about the war in Iraq. We were told that it would be quick and easy... eight or nine years and thousands of troops later, it still isn't over. I agree with this cartoon because my cousins fought in the war and it was scary and frustrating when their tour was extended.

Cartoon #5-Title: Unknown reasons. I think that this cartoon is trying to say is that President Bush just stuck our troops out in Iraq and put them in danger of the "alligators" for unknown and unrealistic reason and made it look like this was going to be easy and not going to be a big deal at all. I agree that with this because i feel like there were no strong reason to put our troops lives on the line.

I picked the cartoon where Bush is standing on top of the a sunken soldier. The soldier is underwater with crocodiles. Bush is saying "see it's not that bad" because he isn't in the war, the soldiers are. I agree with it because it's not easy to say something is ok when you haven't experienced what it feels like.

Cartoon #3, I would title this "Faults". President Bush made mistakes going into this war, and he even admits some of them, but I think that a lot of the time people forget why we really went to Iraq in the first place. We wouldn't be fighting there if it wasn't for Saddam and the things that he was doing to his country. So I think it is true that the reason we are over there is Saddam's fault, even though President Bush had the say in whether to go or not. He was trying to create peace for the world, and that wouldn't have happened if he didn't do what he did.

Cartoon #5 I would title it Obama I guess haha because he is saying it's not say bad when he's not even there fighting it and so it's not so bad for him. I agree because it's true but I don't know enough about Obama to know for sure. Cartoon #6 title real. It's saying that iraq is chaotic with or without the American troops basically. We are helping but they just don't want us there. I agree because it's deffinetly true. Cartoon #7 title black hole haha I guess. It's saying that it's costing a lot to be in Iraq when we have other things we need to be spending it on I guess. I agree also because I don't think it's necessary that were there still. Cartoon #10 title American troops. I dont know if its them saying thank you or us saying thank you, I think it's us it's makes more sense but we have a lot to thank them for. I agree completely, I'm very grateful for them.

The first cartoon I picked is #6. I would title it 'Complete Chaos'. In this cartoon, the cartoonist is trying to portray that Iraq is becoming too complicated and with some sarcasm shows that American troops aren't helping. I disagree with this because our troops are still doing so much there.

Comic #1: Out with old, and in with the new. Well, I think that point the cartoonist is trying to make is that Sadam Hussein was taken out of power for his tyranny and other terrible crimes. But he put a gas pump in the dictators place, indicating that the oil of the desert is now the new master. Whoever holds the oil rules. I think this is mostly true...we're trying, by bringing our forces in, to fix the government into a better situation.

# 2- "A lot of Assembly Required." This cartoon shows Uncle Sam holding a box that titles "Iraq" and many parts are falling out of the box. The cartoonist is saying that we Americans thought it would be easy. We thought we could go in and fix things right up. But that was an illusion; it was much harder than we anticipated. I agree with the cartoon. I feel like we were misinformed that it wasn't going to be very hard. But we spent billions and billions on the war.

#1 I would call this cartoon "Dependance." America's increasing dependance on foreign oil causes us to get involved in areas which otherwise would be of no interest to us. I agree with the message that this cartoon conveys and I think that it just reveals that in America we seem to have two conflicting ideologies that we have trouble reconciling, idealism, and realism.

#2 Uncle Sam's Mistake. The cartoon is showing that when the soldiers went to the war in Iraq, they were told it would be a quick and easy thing but it has turned into a mess. I agree with the cartoon because I think that we have been in Iraq way to long and it HAS been a lot messier than was anticipated.

#5 id call it something like "oops my bad" I think it is just showing how Bush went it thinking itd be an easy fix. But it turned out to be much more complicated than that. I agree with the cartoon, Bush got us into a lot more than just a quick bombing.

#5-"Ignoring the Truth"-It is showing that Bush is not understanding that he is ignoring soldiers who are suffering from his decisions. However, I disagree with that cartoon because from what I know, Bush is aware of the soldier but he had to make a decision to send more over.

For #5, I would call it "Alligator Iraq". I think that the cartoon was made to show that President bush was sending soldiers to a dangerous place and encouraging them it will all be okay, but really he was trowing them into alligators tanks. I totally agree with this cartoon, i think that soldiers went there encouraged by President Bush thinking it was going to be alright, when for reals it was very dangerous.

Cartoon #1: i would title this cartoon "USED" because it shows us taking over Iraq but behind the statue of Mr.Saddam Hussein there is an oil pump. in my opinion that i what our country has always been after. It seems to me that we are after everyone oil. and we USED Iraq as an excuse to get oil.

#2 - "Scam Artist" It's a way to say that we were 'sold' a job to take care of in Iraq, which we thought would be over in a matter of months... but no. I agree with this, because we have lost so much money, resources, people, etc. to this war.

Cartoon #2 "They Said It'd Be Easy." Uncle Sam is trying to return an item labled "Iraq" with a lot of parts falling out. He tell the reseptionest that the salesman said it was simple but it wasn't. I agree we were told it would be simple and we would be there for a year or two but we ended up being that for like ten years.

Cartoon #1- "Over thrown" the idea of this is that oil has taken over Iraq. That oil is the only reason we are still in Iraq too. It also is saying that oil is controlling everyone in Iraq. I don't agree that we are there for only oil but I do agree that it has a major influence on everyone over there

Title: Death Toll. I think the artist is trying to tell us that the number of those who have died in Iraq is great. And just our American troops. That's why he uses the dog tags. I agree that it is frightening how many have died and that maybe the amount of good we are doing over there does not match up.

For the 5th political cartoon, I'd call it "Unaware". Bush sent troops to Iraq to fix it, and he never really understood how things were. He seemed to think it was going alright and we were accomplishing our goals. The troops, on the other hand, don't feelt he same way.

#5. In Deep Waters. The person who created this cartoon obviously believes that president Bush didn't know what was going on but in my view he did his best to help the people of Iraq and the citizens of the united states no president would blatantly put the world in more danger than it needed to be and if so we brought it on ourselves.

#2 I Take That Back: Uncle Sam is returning Irap to a returns lady and he says he thought the war in Iraq would be an easy do-it-yourself project. It os trying to say the war in Iraq was too much of a responsiblity and the Americans thought this war would be easy and end quick. #1."The Revolution": I think that the cartoonist who drew this picture was trying to show who Iraq's new leader was. They were trying to show that gas/oil was going to be the new thing in their country that brought them money and increase their value. I agree! Sorry no returns. I think it is saying that now we are in a war with Iraq, we can’t go back. This makes sense because if we did our money and soldiers were wasted and we didn’t solve the problem. We are not in too deep. I think the cartoon is saying that president bush was trying to cover up haw bad the war is. I do not think this is the case you want to know what is going on you just have to look for it. We’re sinking. I think it is saying that things can’t get worse so we should pull out now. I think that we are making progress in Iraq. Where is all the money going? I think it is saying that a lot of money is being put into this war. I think it is true we went farther into debt to continue this war.
